About
We currently own 65,000 ha of forest land in NZ designated as a permanent carbon forest activity and actively manage a further 45,000 ha on behalf of our lease holders.
The map shows the location of the forests we manage and lease throughout the country.
Our initial permanent carbon forests are a critical first step in our journey but it is not the destination. We will see our forest estates, over time, regenerate into an enduring indigenous forest sheltering the unique flora and fauna of Aotearoa.
We are committed to preserving our planet for future generations. While we have created the physical and financial products needed to transform our estates to indigenous forests, we seek to verify and validate our approach through our engagement with high quality, independent scientists.
We are focused on reinvesting the majority of our earnings into growing our permanent regenerating forest portfolio. Over the last 10 years we have secured the future of 50 million trees by converting marginal unproductive land into permanent regenerating forest and converting established forests intended for harvest into permanent regenerating forest. Our regenerating permanent forest will continue to provide a safe haven for endangered wildlife to rehabilitate and deliver our environmental vision into the future.
NZCFs ability to innovate and fulfil our mission of Preserving our Planet for Future Generations hinges on proactively engaging with the environment that we operate in. We actively look for opportunities to invest and deliver world leading innovations in our home country, New Zealand. A key objective is for our products to be known and trusted as ‘deep green’ by our partners.
