Land owners can generate annual revenue, and own a forest for harvest, through our tailored planting lease solutions
Planting Lease Forest
We plant and grow the forest that are handed back to you, the owner, at the end of the lease.
We pay to plant the forest.
You own the trees at the end of the lease. After the lease ends you can decide whether to harvest the trees or to continue operating as a permanent carbon sink forest.
We take care of any liabilities under the Emissions Trading Scheme so long as you replant the forest within the period specified by the Emissions Trading Scheme.
How does it work
We pay an annual rental to the forest owner.
The rental is adjusted annually in line with the CPI.
We own the carbon sequestered by the forest as it grows.
As long as the land is replanted in terms of the requirements of the ETS legislation then you’ll have no obligation to pay back the Carbon Credits under the Emissions Trading Scheme. We manage this “surrender risk” through a process called “Averaging” under the Emissions Trading Scheme.
